Cherry Chapter Director - Monte GurnseyHello, I'm Monte Gurnsey. My wife Dawn and I serve in the Cherry Chapter in North Central Nebraska. I was led to the Lord at the age of three. I was led to Christ by the lady who became the first director for the Cherry Chapter. Her favorite counseling tool was using the Wordless Book. I always had a love for children and often took a turn babysitting in the nursery for my local church. I attended Good News Club my sixth grade year in Bassett. I really didn't have much contact with CEFTM for several years even though I knew a lot of the people involved in the local ministry. In 1985, Dawn and I felt called into CEFTM and that fall attended Children's Ministries Institute TMand have served as local director for the Cherry Chapter since that time. Lincoln Director - Jonathan MusgraveBecause I trusted Christ as a child myself, I realized the importance of Children's ministry. After completing college and during my fourth year of teaching at a Christian school, the Lord allowed me to become involved in CEF as "camp pastor" for Christian Youth In ActionTM in 1999. Eventually, the Lord led me to accept the position of local director of Lincoln at the end of 2003. By March of 2004, we were holding Good News Clubs (GNCs) in two public elementary schools! August 13, 2005, I married my sweetheart, Yoli, and we enjoy serving the Lord together reaching the children and families of Lincoln. Currently we have 8 clubs in elementary schools. We are also working with Filipino, Iraqi, Syrian and Sudanese families! Jackie Weiss and her husband, Wes, have three children; Jonathan and his wife Rhonda of Omaha, Susanna and her husband Jeremy of Columbus, and Melissa, a senior at Moody Bible Institute. Jackie made a decision for Christ at an early age, but believes she was truly born again at the age of 22. "My life changed completely," she said, "and I felt called to full-time Christian service." She attended Memphis State University and Tennessee Temple University and has completed the CEF training at the Children’s Ministries InstituteTM in the spring of 2006 for becoming a local director.
